Professional experiences and career highlights
Working here at Teledyne RD Instruments had exposed me to so much new and exciting technology. I've learned a lot about software engineering from the different programming techniques to the process of brainstorming and documenting. I am a co-creator of an internal software that is still used by engineers and managers that help pull data from the legacy database. I also helped solve the issue with first passs yield for testing, and assisted QA team with deriving a bound. I am also involved in an improvement project that involves automating test procedures and implementing previously built computer vision software in order to eliminate user error during testing. I was fortunate enough to get hands on experiences with ADCP devices and learned a lot of hardware/manufacturing skills along the way. I'm a Computer Science major, so most of what I do is program, which is why I am forever grateful to Teledyne for providing me with a full circle experience.
This was one of my first technical job. At this job I've learned so much about communication, managing, and troubleshooting. In this role, I did all types of work as an assistant to support my supervisor. I helped out countless numbers of students, professors, and guests who had difficulties navigating the learning management system(LMS), Canvas. I also created many user friendly help desk articles that specifically highlights step-by-step procedures for common technical challenges a user might have. I also helped with the naming migration where I had to work on many internal changes.
I assisted Professors, students, and MAS staffs with monitoring online classes and taking care of any technical issues that may be happening. I actively made sure that the quality of audio and visual were appropriate and helped set up the learning environment. Alongside this job I was also working for UC San Diego DES as a technical assistant.
Not only did this opportunity provided with technical skills, but I was able to be involved in a continuous and changing movement of diversity within the computer science and engineering department. I was in charged of updating their websites, actively updating information, kept in close contact with the intern team, and promoted many events in relation to DEI.
